Gizmo Watch 3 introduces kids to wireless technology safely. Only parent-approved contacts¹ can call or text your child’s watch, and the watch can’t access any internet content. Use the GizmoHub app² on your phone to easily keep up on your child’s Gizmo location on the map. I had the same exact issue trying to activate an upgrade! It took over a month and hours on the phone with Verizon to figure out how to get it activated. Then not long after, it quit turning on and is in a cycle of rebooting. They will not replace a gizmo even though I have insurance on my plan to cover all devices. So now I just have to buy a new one after only using it for a short time.

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

Does what is supposed to do for my 9 year old. I can now find him anywhere instantly as he plays in the neighborhood. I can call him and talk with him anytime when he is out playing. He loves it!

GizmoWatch 3 now includes a touchscreen keyboard so kids can say exactly what they want to say, instead of being limited to a list of prewritten messages. They can have a text chat with a parent-approved contacts individually or with everyone at once in a Gizmo group chat. Using the GizmoHub app, parents can create their child’s Gizmo chat groups and select members for the group.

Stay focused, be active and have fun.

Encourage a sense of responsibility in your child by creating a task list in the GizmoHub app that syncs with the Gizmo Watch 3, as does setting a daily step goal. For fun, there's Tic-Tac-Toe, a timed jumping game, a pattern-matching game called Gizmo Says, and Puzzle. Kids can even learn about the local weather forecast from their Gizmo Watch 3 and choose a digital watch face that changes with the seasons.

Let kids be Gizmo buddies.

Siblings or friends with Gizmo watches can be set up in the GizmoHub app as Gizmo buddies⁶ so they can call, video call or message each other with emojis, photos and voice or video recordings. In addition, Gizmo Watch 3 has a new way to make Gizmo buddies. If two Gizmo Watch 3's are in the same room, they can find each other's watches via Bluetooth and send requests to their parents to be Gizmo buddies.

Worry less about the “where are you?”

Of course, your child's location is a top concern. That's why location and map features are front and center on the GizmoHub app. Create multiple location alerts to know your child's location at a specific time each day, or when they cross in or out of specific areas. Tap the refresh location or real-time tracking buttons to get location updates on demand. Also, your child can easily use their Gizmo Watch 3 to check in and send you a real-time location notification.

Charging port is having issues, it all time needs a clean up with wipes that test patience and the battery drains faster. Not even lasting for a day !!

I wish we would of gotten one sooner. Our youngest granddaughter just turned 7 and loves being outside all day in the neighborhood. Know she can call and tell us who's house she is at and we don't have to go searching for her. Only downside, she calls us all day long to say hi and I love you. That really isn't a downside.

I ordered this for my daughter, It arrived by mail, At first it set up fine, but we couldn't make video calls from her watch to my phone. Spend hours on the phone with verizon, no solution, we went into a verizon store, no solution. So we are advised to call verizon and ask for a replacement. Replacement arrives 2 days later, and this watch won't turn on at all. I call verizon, spent over 90 mins on the phone, unable to get the replacement to turn on, or the inital watch to make video calls. Female advises me to print out a return slip that she will email me, then take both watches to the store to return. Then I need to place a new order again. Next day, I arrive at the verizon store, they tell me I need to pay $50 restocking fee for one watch and $30 restocking fee for the replacement watch. Obviously Im annoyed and tell them Im not paying a restocking fee for any of the devices, because they haven't worked since I received them. Don't waste your time, This particular customer service rep that took my call on Friday August 2nd in the evening, was not helpful, rude and didn't inform me of restocking fees for their faulty equipment.

Device wont activate

Loved previous Gizmo Pal. Had to upgrade to this device as the screen stopped working on the previous Gizmo Pal (calls come in but can't go call out). To activate new device, had to delete previous Gizmo off app. Still won't activate. Agreed with prior review if upgrading from another device Verizon doesn't know what they are doing. My daughter's watch stopped working after 3 months. It keeps looping on the booting-up screen. I called Verizon, and they were very gracious about sending me a new one since I was still under warranty. But when the watch never came, I called and they said that unfortunately they were out of stock because they offer only refurbished units for replacements under warranty. They said I've been added to the waitlist but it could be a month before I get it. VERIZON DO BETTER!! What's the point of the warranty if I can't get a replacement when it breaks? I use it for my daughter's safety and now we are exposed for a month. They said my only other option was to buy a new one. To be fair, the watch worked well before it malfunctioned.

Recently purchased one for my son and he has worn it for 2 days. Put it on by 8 and by 3 the watch is 20% charge or less. He hasn’t made that many calls on it for it to lose the charge as fast as it has.

It’s been days of trying to set this Watch up with no success. Tried calling Verizon and they wouldn’t help until I accepted a promotion I was not interested in (that required my credit card and sounded like a total scam). Still trying to set up our upgrades watch. Maybe one day we will get some support from Verizon.

Is it water resistant

We'd say that Gizmo Watch 3 is water-resistant, but here's some context you might find helpful: The IP68 rating Gizmo Watch 3 means the watch can be submerged in shallow water for up to an hour. It's good for, say, washing hands, getting caught in the rain and such. However, being overly cautious, we don't recommend using it while swimming, and avoid exposing it to high-pressure water spray, for example at a water park, or from a hose, or from jumping into the pool.

What is the default SOS calling?

The primary guardian is the default emergency contact. In GizmoHub you can change the emergency contact assigned to your Gizmo watch. From the dashboard select Kids. Swipe to the kid you want (if more than one kid). Scroll down to Contacts & Buddies. In the list of contacts, select which one you want to be the emergency contact to call when your child uses the SOS button on their Gizmo watch.

Does the gizmo watch track distance such as miles walked / ran like a Fitbit or Apple Watch?

Gizmo Watch 3 does not track distance but it does have a step counter. You can use the GizmoHub app to set a daily step goal for the watch.
