5G & LTE Home Internet - Whole-Home Wi-Fi FAQs

Verizon Whole-Home Wi-Fi includes 2 features that help you improve Wi-Fi coverage in your home:

• Wi-Fi Health Check in the My Verizon app, to optimize your Wi-Fi network.
• An optional Wi-Fi Extender* for better signal strength in hard-to-reach places.

*If you cancel service or change to a plan that does not include Whole-Home Wi-Fi, you must return the Verizon-owned Wi-Fi Extender or you'll be charged an unreturned equipment fee of $175.

Verizon Whole-Home Wi-Fi is included* with our new 5G Home Plus and LTE Home Plus plans, beginning 11/9/23.

The Wi-Fi Health Check tool in My Verizon app helps you monitor Wi-Fi performance:

• Check the strength of the Wi-Fi connection between the router and connected devices.
• Determine if your home network would benefit from a Wi-Fi extender. (Requires 5 days of home internet use/history).

Note: This tool analyzes network performance, not internet activity.

To access your Whole-Home Wi-Fi features:

• In the My Verizon app, use the Wi-Fi Health Check tool.
• Add a Verizon Wi-Fi extender** (optional) to your home network.

There are 3 different ways you can get the (optional) Wi-Fi extender*:

1. After you activate service*, follow the link in our welcome email and place an order.
2. We remotely monitor our routers' Wi-Fi performance. If we find that an extender will help, we'll email you a link to get one. Please allow about 30 days.
3. If at any time you believe an extender would improve your Wi-Fi network, sign in to My Verizon to request an extender.

After you set up the extender, you can use Wi-Fi Health Check to optimize your Wi-Fi connections.

*Router models vary. Check compatibility. If necessary, update router firmware.

Whole-Home Wi-Fi is automatically removed from your account if you either:

• Cancel your 5G Home Plus plan or LTE Home Plus plan.
• Change to a home internet plan that doesn't include Whole-Home Wi-Fi.

Important: If Whole-Home Wi-Fi is removed from your account for any reason, you must return the Verizon-owned Wi-Fi extender (model CE1000A) or you'll be charged a $175 unreturned equipment fee.
